Usability testing on a shoestring

I’ve been thinking about conducting some form of usability testing on the online training materials that we host on the MHS Postgraduate Skills site. Seeing as there won’t be a huge budget for things like observation suites etc, I’ve did a technorati search on the subject.

This article on Boagworld gives a description about “Bargain basement usability testing”.

I’m pretty sure that there would be some serious ‘concerns’ from usability testers out there about the methods but I reckon that testing of some kind is better than no testing at all, which would be the case if we only conducted the ‘expensive’ variety.
